Disclaimer: We were invited to this event as media. All attendees received a P.S. By Aeropostale gift card as well as a Back Pack filled with goodies. All opinions are 100% honest and mine.
Last Wednesday, The MOMS hosted another signature MAMARAZZI event! The event was hosted at the New P.S. by Aeropostale section of the Aeropostale store down in Times Square. We were going to mingle, look, shop, and meet one the Handsome man with the stunning smile, that is… TAYE DIGGS!
In the initial invitation, we were encouraged to bring New or pre-loved toys to donate to a wonderful Charity called Second Chance Toys!
“Second Chance Toys is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation founded in 2006 to rescue and recycle plastic toys for children in need by donating them to community organizations. Because non biodegradable plastic is kept out of our landfills, Second Chance Toys is helping the environment at the same time.
Given the nature of plastic, the toys often show little signs of wear. When these “good-as-new” toys are thrown out, they become waste in a landfill, take up a lot of space, and do not biodegrade. Hand in hand with this wastefulness is the fact that many children in the United States own few or no toys at all.
Second Chance Toys provides a waste-need solution to these problems. Twice yearly, unwanted plastic toys are rescued and donated to organizations that care for children in need. The toys can enhance a child’s development by helping promote socialization, creativity, emotional security, motor skills, and learning.”
After dropping off the toys, it was time to mingle with the fellow bloggers and check out the cute styling of the P.S. by Aeropostale collection. We were given a gift card to help out with our purchase should we choose to shop. The Dresses were simply adorable and definitely something my Gabby could wear! The Boy’s section was also great, not dull like some other companies. The MOMS’ kids looked great modeling the clothes.
After what felt like forever, We finally got to see the wonderful Taye Diggs and his “Fake Cousin” Shane Evans! He was there to talk to us all about his brand new book, Mixed Me! My mother recently told us that her great grandmother was Spanish (from Spain) and her great grandfather was full Puerto Rican. That makes us some part Puerto Rican, Spanish, and mostly Dominican. That means my daughter’s mixed. We were given a copy of Mixed Me and Gabby really enjoyed reading it with me. “Hair Like Gabby” is what she says about the adorable kid on the front cover.
Taye Diggs wrote this book, following the huge success of his first book Chocolate Me, for his super cute “Mixed” son with Idina Menzel. He did a wonderful reading of the book for all the kids in attendance. His reading really touched my heart! My favorite part being, Mom and Dad say I’m a blend of dark and light:
“We mixed you perfectly, and got you just right.” I huighly recommend you go out and get this book. If your kid is Mixed it’ll teach them that it’s a wonderful thing. If they aren’t Mixed, it’ll teach them that everyone is perfect in their very own way. Purchase Mixed Me! HERE.

I had a Great time. So sad my Gabby missed it due to her fever, but Thanks for the relateable book Taye Diggs! Can’t wait to see what else The MOMS have in store for us.
