FUNtastic Mondays: Kids Design The World!

Sharing is caring!

One
part of being a blogger that I truly Love & enjoy is having the
opportunity to try something completely new, or getting to explore an
unknown experience. Meaning, something that we would probably not have
done otherwise. And then of course, the best part is getting to share
this info with my readers ! We can all learn and try cool things
together.

The
weekend before last, My girlies and I were invited to a launch event
for Kids Design The World!
KDTW is a new store in Prospect Heights,
Brooklyn founded by interior designer and Brooklyn resident Susie Kurkowski, owner of home design store Items of Interest, in Park Slope.
Kids Design The World has cool and innovative kid’s toys, games,
furniture (such as the super cool Triple Bunk Bed!), etc. They also
teach related courses for kids Ages 3-12, in a separate in-store area
called The Hive. Below is one Schedule of the classes they offer…

Have
a child over 12? The Hive also offers a Master Class in interior design
for kids over 12 which will culminate in the child designing his or her
own bedroom. During the course of the Master Class, kids will learn
about contemporary architecture and design, spatial relations, drafting
and space planning, color theory and more. Sounds Cool right?

The Divas were provided with cupcakes , Juices , and a complimentary Building and Architectural design course on-site.

While waiting for the course to begin , we took advantage of their
wonderful backyard play area and it was fun ! I Kept having to chase My
17 month old because all she wanted to do was play outside.

Aside from
outdoor play, We also passed the time by Playing with all the cool stuff
that the store sells. Our Favorites were the Squigz, fun little
suckers,so you know we had to bring one home.

When
the course started, My 9 year old was Super excited . She loves art, so
it’s no surprise that this was her favorite part of the Morning. First,
she was asked what things had inspired certain buildings . She was then
asked to draw her own using sample shapes. Even Baby G wanted to Join
in on the drawing fun.

Once
the course was coming to an end , we were all provided a wonderful
Goodie Bag. I wish we lived closer, we would have definitely Signed up
for a few fashion courses .
