Coding happens to be one of the most POPULAR subjects in this moment. What’s even more amazing is the fact that children are learning to code as you as age 3. In the spirit of coding, allow me to introduce you to the super ADORABLE Cubetto. Not only does this toy suit great for small children, but also those with non-sight and/or disabilities…

Created by Primo Toys, Cubetto is the ONLY screen-less programming system, powered by a revolutionary coding language made of colorful blocks that lets children write their first computer programs in the easiest way possible. Children can start learning computer programming through a friendly wooden robot named Cubetto, a physical programming console, a set of expandable coding blocks, a collection of beautifully illustrated maps and an activity book!

By placing the blocks in different patterns on the control panel (perfectly sized for small hands), children create sequences of instructions that program the robot’s every move.

In the process of play, they develop computational thinking skills that help them understand the basic principles of coding — all of this, in a very age-appropriate way that respects a child’s natural way of learning.  The maps and activity books help children and parents get started with play, by navigating Cubetto through stories and challenges. Planning these mini adventures helps children learn more than coding. They learn to tell stories, to communicate, and to think critically and independently.Cubetto also provides gender-neutral play that boosts a child’s creativity, critical thinking, spatial awareness and communication skills.

Want to hear something even more amazing? Cubetto is the ONLY coding toy that can be used by sighted and non-sighted children in the same setting, creating an equal learning environment that promotes inclusive play.

By combining movement, touch and sound, Cubetto also helps children with disabilities strengthen their sequencing and communication skills. That right there would have me SOLD not just as a parent of a child with slight disabilities, but as an educator too!

Cubetto is available for purchase on www.primotoys.com for $225, or $245 when bundled with the Cubetto Activity Pack, which offers four additional world maps and matching story books. (Activity Pack priced $65 if sold separately).

  1. I've never heard of Primo Toys, or Cubetto, but I would love one of these for my daughter! She attends a STEM school and my husband is an engineer, so we are pushing all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Math related! I'll have to keep an eye out for Cubetto.

P.S. I LOVE your blog! You're daughter is ADORABLE!

  2. This sounds like a great educational toy. Coding is an excellent skill to have. I wish that I was better at it. I learned a bit of coding in high school and college. I use it some but I wish that I could code huge projects.

  3. This looks like such a great Christmas gift for my little guys. I'm all about toys and games that help them focus and prepare for the future!

  4. I personally love STEM/STEAM toys. Cubetto is so well made and great to get little ones introduced to coding while they have fun playing. This is awesome and i love it. Thanks for sharing about such a wonderful toy!
