Q&A and Tour of The Comedy Set with the Cast and Director of #KevinCanWait

Sharing is caring!

I was so late getting to the bus. The only bus that would be taking us to the amazing set in Long Island where director, Andy Fickman, directs the comedic show, Kevin Can Wait. There were about 15-20 other Bloggers and Influencers in attendance so the questions asked were great ones. For those who don’t know, Kevin Can Wait features Kevin James as a newly retired police officer looking forward to quality time with his family—and his fellow retired cops. When his oldest daughter announces she’s dropping out of college to support her fiancé, Kevin knows his only choice is to move them both into his home to keep her in school. The fun has to wait…his family is his new beat. Here are a few of the Q&As from our fun chat…

Q from Thirty Mommy: Where do you draw the inspiration to play the father and mother of a teenager?

Erinn: Neither of us have Teenagers.

Kevin: We draw a lot from real life. My buddy, Danny is one of the cops we base the show on. He has teenage daughters … we take the inspiration from them.

Erinn: Parenting is weird though because when my kids hang out with some who are older than them it’s like what do you do? What can you do? I only know 7-9, next year I’ll know 10… Can you drink soda? Do You get screen time? My kids do not. So that’s where you have to trust the writers… … with comical situations…

Kevin: Yeah… What she said…

Q from Plain All The Way:  For you guys in real life, How close are you to your characters?

Erinn: I’m Married to my High School Sweetheart… I am a mom. I think I’m much weirder than my character….

There were many more great questions and you can definitely check that out in the Q&A Video below…

After all was said and done, Mr. Fickman gave us a behind the scenes scoop on how the cameras capture those hilarious moments that we love so much. He told us what a HOT SET was, How he get actual running water on the set (being that it’s none functioning plumbing all around), and even secrets of the fly out walls. I’ll be sure to add the video of the full set tour below when I upload it =)

The show is great! It’s funny, it’s new, and it’s on every Monday at their new time of 8pm Eastern time on CBS! Here’s a long clip of their Halloween episode that premiered Yesterday. Catch the Full episode on CBS.com

  1. How cool that you are able to go on the set of this funny TV show. I have always loved Kevin James and he is so funny in this new show! I loved him in King of Queens. I hope this show is on a long time!
