Off Broadway Alliance
The Off Broadway Alliance (OBA) is a nonprofit corporation organized by theater professionals dedicated to supporting, promoting and encouraging the production of Off Broadway theater and to making live theater increasingly accessible to new and diverse audiences like you and I! The OBA has recently announced that its hugely popular semiannual ticket promotion, 20at20, will return from February 22nd to March 13th, 2016. What is 20at20? Well I’ll tell you…
The 20at20 promotion makes $20 tickets available to most Off Broadway shows 20 minutes prior to curtain time. That means you can get up off the couch and spontaneously go watch an Off Broadway Live Show! 20at20 is now in its 10th year and has become one of New York’s most eagerly anticipated promotions for people who want to see exciting shows at steeply discounted prices. Peter Breger, President of the Off Broadway Alliance, said: “The great thing about being in New York is that the magical experience of great live theatre is always available and the great thing about 20at20 is that it makes that experience available to everyone.
Parents who want to watch their little ones’ faces light up can chose between a number of charming and adorable shows such as:
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
The Berenstain Bears
The Gazillion Bubble Show
Beauty and The Beast
Adults can also get in on the live performance fun with shows like The Imbible: A Spirited History of Drinking, Sex Tips for a Straight Woman from a Gay Man, Drunk Shakespeare, and many more. For people interested in exciting new dramas, there’s Body of an American Boy, Straight and Dot, or if you’ve missed them, some long running favorites like Sistas, Newsical the Musical, and STOMP. You can also catch exciting new musicals, Daddy Long Legs and the wonderful perennials, The Fantasticks and Avenue Q.
