I am one who loves to read and was very excited when my daughter really started getting into story books. She has me read 1-2 books a night and sometimes she has me read the same book twice. I was very excited to be chosen to review and giveaway the National Geographic Kids Book of Heroes and the Book of Heroines. Read on to see what we loved about the book and what you’d love too!
These books talk about real life heroes and heroines including world leaders, peacemakers, war heroes, sports legends, super heroes, and superstars. It’s also important that you know that fictional characters can be real heroes too due to the way their morals are. Even Harry Potter, which is Gabriella’s Dad’s FAVORITE Character, makes and appearance in the book. This truly opens the discussion with children as to what a hero or Heroine might mean to them and who a hero might be in their life.
Not only is my child learning about heroes and heroines, but Mommy is too! There are so many incredible facts in here that I wonder how I could’ve ever overlooked them. I must confess that in all my Disney years, I did NOT know that Mulan was based on a true person! I know Pocahontas was, but Mulan? Wow!
The Book of Heroes can be purchased here and The Book of Heroines can be purchased here. They both retail for $14.99 and can also be found wherever books are sold including Barnes & Noble, Books-a-million, The National Geographic store, and Amazon.
